Awards for students with disabilities

About awards for students with disabilities

UBC Okanagan offers awards of different values and eligibility criteria specifically for students with disabilities.

  • Bursaries are awards based on demonstrated financial need.
  • Scholarships are awards based on academic achievement, community involvement, or leadership.

Each award for students with disabilities has additional eligibility requirements such as financial need or demonstrated merit. Read the award descriptions below to determine your eligibility for specific awards.

Additionally, students who are registered with the Disability Resource Centre and who are taking an approved reduced credit load are considered for the campus’s other awards which would normally require registration in 24 percentage-graded credits.

Disability programs

British Columbia (BC) residents who are student loan approved and have a disability are encouraged to submit a Disability Programs Application to Student Aid BC. Once approved, you may be eligible for grants, additional financial support for services and equipment, and a reduced course load.
