About the program

The Bohunt Education Trust Community Field Placement is an International placement that will allow candidates to work with small groups of students in secondary school in and out of the classroom. This program does not have a UBCO Faculty member joining the students, they will be there with other UBCO Education students.

Eligibility and Prerequisite

This course is designed for the following: 

  • Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Education program (specifically the Community Field Experience) 
  • Preference will be given to TA’s as none of the schools are elementary schools

All applicants will pay a $415 application fee to Go Global. This will only be charged to those that are successfully matched to Bohunt, there is no cost to those not admitted to this CFE opportunity.

Students will be working with Bohunt directly and they will be organizing your Accommodation. This will be paid by Bohunt for the time you are actively involved in the CFE.

Additional fees:

  • Roundtrip flight to the UK
  • All meals while in country
  • Transportation – Bohunt suggests £100 to/from the CFE site to your accommodation
  • Personal expenses


You will receive a $1,000 Go Global Award, this will be disbursed in the month prior to your departure.

Educ 442 – Community Field Experience.

A combined course and field experience designed to introduce students to the importance ‘place’ in the field of education. Emphasis is placed on the challenges and opportunities of living, working and teaching overseas, as well as the extent to which cultural understanding can enrichen that experience. The field trips in particular will highlight the intersections between culture and education in a variety of work settings.
