Experience & Involvement Hub
The Experience & Involvement Hub (EIH) is the platform for discovering, tracking, and reflecting on opportunities that enrich your university experience. Whether you’re interested in Co-op, guided research, workshops, or volunteering, the EIH brings all your campus involvement together in one place.
Use the EIH to position yourself for career success by connecting your experiences to skills and achievements you can highlight in applications and interviews.
How to use the EIH
Discover opportunities
Find opportunities that align with your interests. Within the EIH you can explore:
Experiential Education opportunities
Apply your learning by engaging in hands-on experiences. These could include guided research projects, courses with a case study component, community-based volunteer experiences, international exchanges, and more.
Student involvement opportunities
Get involved beyond the classroom. Opportunities include attending skill-building workshops, panel events, or participating in student leadership opportunities.
After logging into the EIH, explore both the ‘Activities’ and ‘Events’ tabs to see all of the available opportunities. Additional experiences are added regularly, so continue to check back for more!
Track your involvement
The opportunities that you register for within the EIH will automatically appear in your profile. Navigate to the ‘My Experiences’ tab, then ‘Add an Experience’ to view the activities, events, and courses you have participated in.
If you participate in an experience that’s not listed within the EIH, you can manually add it to the platform as a ‘New Entry’, tracking your involvement all in one place.
build YOUR EIP
Use your experiences to build a customizable Experience & Involvement Portfolio (EIP). The EIP is a document that showcases your achievements and can be viewed or downloaded at any time.
You must formally add and claim an experience before you can complete a skills reflection and include it on your Experience & Involvement Portfolio.
Follow the step-by-step instructions:
Reflect on your skills and competencies
Complete a reflection of the skills and competencies that you’ve developed and connect your experiences to the qualities that matter most to employers and graduate school admissions teams.
To help you get started, UBC Okanagan has developed a competency framework to guide meaningful reflection and help you connect your involvement to your long-term goals.
Stand out in applications and interviews
Turn the skills and experiences you document in the EIH into a powerful resume, compelling interview stories, and a clear path to your future goals.
