Experiential Learning
Indigenous Programs & Services at UBC’s Okanagan campus has a designated Experiential Learning and Career Advisor to provide support to self-identified First Nation, Métis, and Inuit students throughout their time as a student and post-graduation.
Whether you are interested in volunteering, research opportunities, entrepreneurship, employment opportunities, global exchange, graduate school, or are still uncertain, we can support you on this journey.
Our programs
Indigenous Research Mentorship (IRM) Program
An opportunity for self-identified Indigenous undergraduate students to gain practical research and laboratory experience while working with a UBC Okanagan faculty member or post-doctoral fellow.
Indigenous Pathways to Graduate Studies
What’s next after your undergrad? Consider applying to the next Indigenous Pathways to Graduate Studies program, where students will prepare for and explore graduate studies in a supportive, holistic environment.
Australian Leadership Program
UBC Okanagan partners with colleagues at a post-secondary institution in Australia to offer programming that allows Indigenous students at UBC Okanagan to connect with other Indigenous students and cultures from other parts of the world.
Go Global
Go Global is a post-secondary academic exchange program. This program allows students to take one or more courses at specific partner institutions around the world. Courses completed on exchange are counted towards your degree requirements at UBC. Connect with an Indigenous Student Advisor to discuss how participating in Go Global could fit within your academic plan.
