Our Commitment to Indigenous Students
UBCO is working towards building meaningful, reciprocal, and mutually beneficial partnerships with the Syilx peoples. UBC has begun to implement its Indigenous Strategic Plan (2020), taking a leading role in the advancement of Indigenous peoples’ human rights. We at Student Wellness are committed to continuing to work towards taking meaningful steps in an effort to address the calls to action outlined in the Action Plan.

This gives students the earliest possible connection to the right resources and support, before difficulties become overwhelming.
About our work
Good student health is foundational to student health and wellbeing, which relates directly to curricular and co-curricular education, learning and development, and to students’ progression towards educational achievement. The Student Wellness team works together and with our campus and community partners to provide excellence in student health care.
Various theories inform the work that we do; these include best practices in nursing, counselling, medicine, campus development, community models, and population health.
Our commitment to the promotion of healthy living and mental health is empowered through the Okanagan Charter.
