Indigenous Summer Scholars & Leadership Camps
UBC Okanagan currently hosts two summer camps for Aboriginal youth:
- Indigenous Summer Scholars Camp
- Indigenous Summer Leadership Camp
These integrated programs aim at providing the next generation of Aboriginal leaders with the opportunity to become part of the university experience. The goal of these camps is to help build the students’ interests in higher education and their ability to act as leaders in their community and schools. Each of these programs are designed in a holistic way that incorporates physical, mental, social, and cultural programming.
Indigenous Summer Scholars Camp and Indigenous Summer Leadership Camp are free programs that include all food, accommodations, events, and programming.
However, the cost of travel to and from these camps is not covered.
Application deadline: 4:00 p.m. June 3, 2019. Only fully completed applications will be accepted. Please send in applications by email, fax, or mail.

Check out the UBC Vancouver Summer Science Programs
The Summer Science Program is a one-week cultural, health, and science program for Aboriginal students in grades 9–12. The program promotes interest in health and science programs through firsthand experience at the University of British Columbia’s Vancouver campus. This is a great opportunity to meet new friends, eat great food, connect with Elders and role models, and enjoy fun, laughter, and learning. Students who are First Nations, Inuit, or Métis are able to apply for either session.
