Indigenous Summer Scholars and Leadership Camps

Thank you for your interest in our Summer Camp Programs! Applications for July 2026 are now closed.
We are currently reviewing applications and will follow up with all applicants by late may.
Indigenous Programs & Services at UBC Okanagan hosts two annual overnight summer camps for Indigenous youth:
- Indigenous Summer Scholars Camp: Grades 7 to 9
- Indigenous Summer Leadership Camp: Grades 10 to 12
These programs aim to provide the next generation of Indigenous leaders with opportunities to build their interest in post-secondary education, connect with other students in a fun and interactive environment, and increase their ability to act as leaders in their communities and schools. Each of these programs is designed in a holistic way that incorporates physical, mental, social, and cultural programming.
Indigenous Summer Scholars Camp and Indigenous Summer Leadership Camp are free, overnight, multi-day programs that include all food, accommodations, events, and programming. However, the cost of travel to and from these camps is not covered.

Check out the UBC Vancouver Summer Science Programs
The Summer Science Program is a one-week cultural, health, and science program for Aboriginal students in grades 9–12. The program promotes interest in health and science programs through firsthand experience at the University of British Columbia’s Vancouver campus. This is a great opportunity to meet new friends, eat great food, connect with Elders and role models, and enjoy fun, laughter, and learning. Students who are First Nations, Inuit, or Métis are able to apply for either session.
