This function will not be available in Workday until your registration appointment opens.
This tutorial applies to both undergraduate and graduate students on the Okanagan campus.
There are two primary ways you can register for courses in Workday:
- Create a saved schedule and register for multiple courses at once.
- Register for individual courses one at a time.
This page explains how you can register for a specific course after your registration opens. Prior to your registration appointment, you can create a saved schedule and register for multiple courses at once when your registration is open.
How to register for individual course sections
Find course sections
Follow the instructions to view the course schedule.
Select a course section
1. When you find a course you want to register for, click the course title link.

2. On the “View Course Section” page, review the course description for eligibility requirements, prerequisites, or corequisites to confirm that you are eligible to register.
Register for the course section
- Click the “Register” button at the bottom of the page.
- The button will only appear after your registration appointment when registration has opened for you.
- If registration is not yet open for you, you can add this course to a saved schedule by clicking the “Add to Saved Schedule” button.
- On the “Register for Course Section” page, review the selected course section.
- Select the course section you want to register for. You may see more than one option.
- Ensure you have selected all activities required for the course (e.g. tutorials, seminars, laboratories, etc.).
- Click the “Register” button to register in the individual course section.
- If you do not want to register in the course section, cancel the registration by clicking the “Cancel” button.

Confirm your registration
A summary page will appear to confirm that you have registered successfully. This page will include information about the course section you registered for.
Click the “View Registered Courses” button at the bottom of the page to view the full list of your registered courses. Click the “View Student Account” button to access your account summary and review financial information, including tuition details.
Common issues
If you do not see a “Register” button, it may be because registration is not yet open to you. Check your registration appointment.
If registration for a course section is unsuccessful, find out why:
- Read the course description for eligibility requirements, prerequisites or corequisites.
- Use the Troubleshoot Registration tool located in the Registration & Courses tab in the Academics app. Learn more about troubleshooting course registration.
- Under some circumstances during the registration process, the system will automatically guide you to the Registration Troubleshooting tool. Follow the prompts to troubleshoot your registration.
