We did it! We’re in that final stretch of the semester. It’s definitely a stressful time but it is also time for celebration. Coming this far is a big achievement and all of our efforts deserve a moment to be honoured. Here on some ideas on how to do that.
1) Hike Knox Mountain
With the weather becoming better and better each day, taking some time outside is a must. Knox mountain is a beautiful hike that you can do in under two hours! The view at the top is absolutely stupendous, making the effort to get there very worth it.
2) Check out some of the hiking trails on campus!
If you live on campus and are looking for something a little closer, check out the nearby hiking trails. They’re short and sweet and a great chance to explore our campus a little bit more.
3) Walk by Mission Creek
Being near water can be immensely soothing and calming. When I lived close to Mission Creek last year, I went there all the time! I’d sit by the river to listen to it flow, and loved it. If you haven’t already, check out Mission Creek Park for yourself!
4) Visit Paul’s Tomb
Walk along Paul’s Tomb trail to a beautiful little beach for a chance to be in nature and disconnect from the world. You can access it from Knox Mountain Park or take the short cut accessible off of Poplar Point Drive.
If you’re not a very outdoorsy person, fear not! There are many options for you too!
5) Check out Airhouse
Airhouse is a freestyle trampoline park here in Kelowna. They offer drop-in sessions where you can jump your heart out. It’s incredibly fun, stress relieving, and very good for your health.
6) Play laser tag with your friends!
Reconnect with your inner child and head to Planet Lazer for a game of laser tag. Bring some friends and have a moment to just have some fun. It’s such a lively, engaging, and thrilling activity.
7) Take a yoga class at a studio or at home
Yoga is one of my favourite ways to feel revitalized after a stressful week. Bliss Yoga is a studio downtown that offers some great classes. They also have a student discount, which is a plus!
There’s also a ton of terrific videos to follow along at home. Here are some of my go-tos:
20 minute Evening Yoga and Savasana
I hope these ideas have inspired you to take some time and celebrate your wins this semester. You deserve a moment to relish your accomplishments, so be sure to take them. ?
