K.E.L.O.W.N.A …. Have you tried it?

“There’s nothing to do in Kelowna.” – If you haven’t done everything on this list, it is illegal to utter this phrase in public and is punishable by a lot of boredom caused by you not trying new things. (As determined by me and not any recognized legal body).

The Challenge:

K – Knox Mountain

Knox Knox?… Who’s there? You, climbing Knox Mountain because it’s fun, vitamin D is good for you, and you’ve been saying that you want to exercise more. Like many of you, I too have not done this yet, and plan to do so soon in order to avoid hypocrisy. Hopefully, it Knox your socks off.

E – Eat out somewhere new

Tired of the same Door Dash order every Friday night? Try and eat somewhere new in the city. Use this as an opportunity to hang out with friends and find a new staple favorite that’s close to your heart. Don’t know where to start? Try one of my personal favorites; Antico (347 Bernard Avenue). An Italian restaurant renowned for their pizza, pasta, cheesecake and more.

L – Lose yourself in a new part of town

Maybe one day you decide to take a bus you’ve never taken in Kelowna. Seeing new sides of the city could be fun. If this seems too risky or high effort, you can learn one new thing about Kelowna History instead.

O – Ogopogo. Find it

It exists and if you can’t find it you just didn’t try hard enough. Of course, I know where he’s at. After all, he’s my Ogopog-bro, but I ain’t no snitch.

W – Win a prize at the arcade

Whether it’s a date or a fun night out with friends, prove to yourself that you’ve got what it takes to win a coveted plushy from the Scandia Arcade.

N – Nanaimo bar. Where’s the best one?

A Canadian classic that everyone seems to love, but no one seems to know where to get (off campus of course). Try and find the best one in town and comment down below where it is!

A – Art you like

Take pictures of your favorite art in Kelowna and share it with others to show people the aesthetic of the city.

After trying all of this you’ll probably realize that it’s not the biggest and baddest town, but there are some fun things to do here. If you still disagree, fair enough. At least you gave it a try. I will now telepathically deliver your permission to make public judgements about Kelowna.
