As a creator in the UBCO community, I think it’s only right to highlight some of the creatives who have been using their own mediums to make helpful and inspiring content. These people have found their niches and used them to connect with people in impactful ways. Check them out to see their impressive work and get some ideas!
Kishi Shobowale
Kishi is an aspiring YouTuber whose channel “Unique Kishi” features uni-student day in the life vlogs, academic tips and tricks, residence room tours and more. You can learn a lot from her videos about life in the Okanagan as a university student. She balances a lighthearted and comedic tone, with serious and practical takeaways. Daniel Adegborioye
Daniel is a versatile creator who uses design, photography and journals to share his perspective of the world. The honesty of his work is especially evident in his journals where he gives personal reflections on various topics. Beyond using his platform to share his own work, he also shines a spotlight on others in the community through collaboration. Daniel has made cover art for singer/songwriter “Ebun” and merchandise for the up and coming band “Betta Boyz”. Under his brand “Renaissance” he has curated an impressive clothing collection featuring classics and collaborations. Check out all of Daniel’s creations on his website.
For creatives, sharing personal projects is always exciting, but celebrating others’ work is equally fulfilling. As we all make progress in our respective fields, remembering to support each other through the process is vital. Mutual inspiration is a great motivator. Perhaps you can take something away from these three creators and apply it to whatever you’re working on.
