Viewing your Program Completion Application Status – Graduate students

This tutorial applies to graduate students within the College of Graduate Studies only. If you are a Master of Management student, view these instructions.

Before you start

Before viewing your Program Completion Status, ensure that you have applied to graduate.

How to view your Program Completion Application Status

First, go to your Academics app

1. Log into your Workday account at myworkday.ubc.ca.

2. On the right side of the page, in the “Your Top Apps” menu, click the “Academics” app.

Next, go to Graduation

Once in your Academics app, you will be brought to the “Academics” page by default.

Click the “Graduation” tab in the top menu.

Review your status

Your application status will appear in the ‘Program Completion Application Status’ widget. You may have to scroll right to see more details depending on the size of your browser screen.

If you have completed both the Program Completion Application and the Program Completion Questionnaire, you will see a screen with two different statuses:

a. Program of Study Status: This is the same field as your Program of Study Status that is listed under your Educational Objective table on the Academics > Overview screen. This status will automatically change from “In Progress” to “Pending Completion”, after you complete the Program Completion Application and the Program Completion Questionnaire. After your degree has been granted by the Senate, the status will change to “Completed.” Learn more about your Program of Study Status.

b. Program Completion Status: This indicates what stage that your Program Completion Application is in. For example, after you submit your Program Completion Application, the status will show as “Applied for Completion.”

If you submitted the Program Completion Application and not the Program Completion Questionnaire, you will not see anything populated in the Program Completion Application Status widget. Navigate to your My Tasks inbox to complete your questionnaire.

Your questionnaire must be submitted before the application deadline, or your application will be denied.
