Viewing your Program Completion Application Status – Undergraduate and Master of Management students

This tutorial applies to undergraduate and Master of Management students only. If you are a graduate student within the College of Graduate Studies, view these instructions.

Before you start

Before viewing your Program Completion Status, ensure that you have applied to graduate.

How to view your Program Completion Application Status

First, go to your Academics app

1. Log into your Workday account at myworkday.ubc.ca.

2. On the right side of the page, in the “Your Top Apps” menu, click the “Academics” app.

Next, go to Graduation

Once in your Academics app, you will be brought to the “Academics” page by default.

Click the “Graduation” tab in the top menu.

Review your status

You can review statuses under the ‘Graduation’ tab. You may have to scroll right to see more details depending on the size of your browser screen.

  • Program of Study Status: This status will automatically change from “In Progress” to “Pending Completion” after you complete the Program Completion Application. After your degree has been granted by the Senate, the status will change to “Completed.”
  • Program Completion Status: This indicates the stage that your Program Completion Application is in. For example, after you submit your Program Completion Application, the status will show as “Applied for Completion.” 

Program Completion Status terminology

Review the tables below to learn more about the statuses you may see listed.

Program of Study Status

Program of Study Status Description When does this status change?
Pending Completion This status automatically appears once you submit your Program Completion Application. This status remains between the time you submit your Program Completion Application until after the May or November Okanagan Senate meetings.
Complete The Senate has formally granted your degree. Two to three business days after the May or November Okanagan Senate meetings.

Program Completion Status

Program Completion Status Description When does this status change?
Applied for Completion Your Program Completion Application has been submitted successfully and will be reviewed.  This status remains from the time after you submit your Program Completion Application until your application is reviewed. The review process may not occur until closer to the May or November Okanagan Senate meetings.
Evaluation Deferred Your application has been reviewed. You will be approved for graduation once you successfully complete your remaining academic requirements in your final term. This can happen any time after you submit your Program Completion Application and before the May or November Okanagan Senate meetings.
Approved for Completion  Your application has been reviewed. You have been approved to graduate, but your degree has not yet officially been conferred by the Senate. This status will appear after you have successfully completed all your course requirements, and your final grades have been submitted (including grades for transfer credits).
Denied You have not satisfied the academic requirements for graduation, or you have withdrawn your application for program completion. This status can appear any time after your application has been reviewed and you do not meet program requirements, or you have withdrawn your application.
Program Completed Your degree has been conferred by the Senate. Two to three business days after the May or November Okanagan Senate meetings.
