Jean Bryans, Primary Health Nurse
Hi. Primary Health Care includes all of the basic services that are required to meet our everyday health care needs. This includes physical, emotional and social concerns that you may have in regards to yourself or someone you know. Come see me for an assessment of any illness or injury, sexual health information, nutritional support, smoking cessation, dental concerns, mental health support or information about any health resources on or off campus. There is no charge for my services. I look forward to meeting you, even if it’s just to come and have a look around the clinic.
Tracey Sutton, Counsellor
Hello! I’m Tracey, and am lucky to be one of several counsellors at UBC Okanagan. I came to UBCO ten years ago from Vancouver and enjoy supporting students making a similar transition to life in the Okanagan. I have a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology from UBC Vancouver in addition to training as a Life Coach. I have been working with university students in a number of capacities for the past 15 years. I enjoy partnering with students to help them create positive change in their lives and move closer to their academic, career and personal best. When I'm not busy working or playing with my 9 year old, I love to bike, swim and enjoy the mountains and lakes throughout the Okanagan.

Sophie Vinette, Counsellor
After years of harsh cold winters and too many short summers, Kelowna became my home in 2003. As if I wasn’t blessed enough to discover this gem of a place, I also lived in South East Asia for a few years while enjoying some volunteering and travelling (and eating a plethora of deliciously exotic dishes!). I joined the wonderful UBCO Health & Wellness counselling team in 2014. I have a Master of Social Work from the University of Ottawa and later completed an Advanced Diploma in Art Therapy through VATI while working full-time. I remember and understand all too well the challenges, delights, and stress of being a student. These kinds of juggling acts are often not possible without a strong dose of balance in other life areas… so I try to “practice what I preach”. I love connecting with nature & the outdoors (minus the mosquitoes), whether it’s camping, hiking or kayaking, as well as unleashing my creativity via art-making and cooking like a fearless amateur chef. I look forward to lending you a hand in addressing whatever challenge may be knocking at your door, and building more resiliency along the way so you are confident in your abilities.
