Math and Science Centre
Trouble with Math? Physics? Chemistry? Biology? We can help!
The Math and Science Centre at UBC's Okanagan campus provides free, drop in tutoring five days per week. We are located on the second floor of the new University Centre in UNC 201. Staffed with over 20 student tutors, who have all been through the same subjects, there is always help available when you need it.
We tutor in all math, statistics, science, economics, and engineering courses; all you need to do is drop by with your question and connect with a tutor. Our services also expand to meet with certain peak periods, such as before midterms. There is generally a tutor in every subject during at least some part of each day.
The Math & Science Centre offers daily tutoring as well as:
- Additional tutoring sessions leading up to midterms and final exams
- Supplemental Learning in historically difficult courses
- Back to Basics
- and much more!

Need some Maple help? There are a number of tutors working at the Centre who will be able to guide you through problems you may have with Maple.
The Math and Science Centre reserves the right to refuse to help students on the following assignments:
- Take home exams
- Pre Lab assignments
- Lab assignments
While we cannot help directly with these assignments, our tutors are readily available to work on problems similar to the assignments that will help your work towards the completion of your assignment.
We are committed to providing free tutoring services for UBC Okanagan students. At this time we strictly do not offer any tutoring services on a private basis.
For those wishing to engage in course material outside of the classroom we encourage you to check out the online video tutorials developed by the Khan Academy. Here you will find free and helpful online tutorials that may be beneficial to you in learning course materials within the math, science and humanities disciplines.
